It has been a while since posting, but with good reason. Literally our whole family, except for iron lady Amelie, had the flu last week. Out for the count. Amelie must’ve inherited her strength from her mother, because Suzanne was up and about in a day. Myself and Sonja…..more like a week.
Suzanne and I were at the Henderson’s place Sunday a week ago for some maternity photography, and after a bit of a nervous start, we quickly on with it and had a great hour and a bit of shooting some really intimate shots with Bruce and Bridget in their little nest. You can just feel the mood of anticipation and expectation when you’re at their place. The little nursery looks lovely, and the little shoes and socks and clothes……I never thought I’d say this, but oh so cute! And to all the guys reading this: If you’re a dad, you’ll know where I’m coming from. If not yet, just wait……
Another thing I realised on this session is that photography isn’t just about ideas you’ve got in your head and having to absolutely implement them at all costs. Fusing them with what you have in front of you, and improvising is all part of the fun!
